WE want to give back

At We are After the Storm, we are committed to giving back where we can.  Throughout the year we will support certain events that are close to our hearts.

We will also select 2 Charities annually that we want to support where ever possible.

This is where you can find out about the Events we support and how you can contribute to them.

Marie's Challenge 2021 and #theSmearCampaign

John O'Groats to Lands End 1000 mile bike ride.

Marie's Challenge was born after Chris Hopkins received the news that Marie, the mother of his 9 year old son had terminal cancer and only had months to live. After the initial feeling of complete devastation, he wanted to make something positive from something so terrible.  Marie's Challange is Chris's way of creating a legacy in her name, something that her children can be proud of.  Sadly Marie passed away on 23rd January 2021, only 4 months after finding that her cancer had turned terminal. All money raised will go to support 2 charities; SEED Eating disorder Support Service and Christmas for CAHMS

Following on from that Chris has founded #thesmearcampaign and is campaigning hard to obtain charity status.

1 Million Steps in 47 days

On the 23rd December 2020 our very own Lousie Welsby, set herself the challenge of walking 1 million steps before her birthday on the 9th February 2021 to raise money for the The Brain Tumour Charity.

Louise's mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour - in May 2019. She has been fighting with positivity, dignity and bravery since then. The tumour is now back and she started the final round of chemotherapy on 23rd December. Louise wanted to do the challenge for her mum and to send some strength and positivity into the world as she endures her fourth cancer treatment in 18 months. The money raised is for The Brain Tumour Charity who have provided much support and information to us, and am sure will continue to do so.

If you would like to read more about how Louise smashed this challenge in only 47 days, whilst running a business, family and supporting her parents vist her just giving page below.
